Week 11: never Stop Learning!

This week was the last week of my 23 Things Journey! :) Here's a look back of what I have accomplished during the passed 11 weeks! :)

     · What was my favourite Thing?

      My favorite thing was Pinterest!

· What was the most useful Thing?

The most useful thing for me was learning how to download audiobooks on my ipod.

· What was I surprised to discover?

I was surpise to discover all the things I didn't know existed, like Scoop it and StumbleUpon

· How will I use the Things in my work or personal life?

I will use these different multimedia tools to find things I'm interested in my every day life and use it for my business advertisement! :)

· How did I feel after completing the 23NB program?

Honnestly I felt relieved, because technology is really not my strengh! But it forced me to learn new things! :)

· What did I learn about myself?
I learned that I can learn new things if I really want to, or in this case, had to! :) I also learned to not be scared of the unknown, and have patience and determination in what I do! :)

Week 9: Apps

This week, I was asked to download Overdrive and the Bibliopb app on my iphone. I though it was pretty easy to do and I'm sure I will find both of them to be very useful in the future! :D I already can't wait to listen to my audiobook I just downloaded! ;)

Week 8: Sharing

This week, we learned about scoop it! I wasn't familiar at all with this social tool, and personally I don't think I will ever use it in my everyday life. However, it was nice to know that it exists, and you never know, it might come in handy someday! ;)

Week 7: CBC Radio Q’s debate on the future of libraries

This debate involved the iconic Fifth Avenue branch of the New York Public Library. They are debating about shipping millions of reference titles to a storage facility to make room for more lounge-like spaces and maybe even a cafe. These changes would make their identity more as a community hub, that go way beyond books. The question now  is: What role should the libraries play in our society?

Uploading a video from Youtube!

Here's a video about things to visit in New York City, a place I want to visit soon! ;)

Week 5: Pinterest!

This week, we got to explore Pinterest! :) I was already familiar with Pinterest so I didn't find the tasks too hard! :) Overall I really enjoyed creating a new board of places I want to visit, and I got to follow other libraries to see what they're up too! I'm sure they have great ideas and are doing fantastic things! :D

Week 4: This week I found the different tasks to be quite difficult and hard to understand, with very few clear explanations. I kind of had to figure things out by myself and didn't enjoy it at all! Hopefully next week will be easier and more fun!

My First Blog! :D

Hi! :)

My name is Isabelle LeBlanc. I'm 27, live in Ste-Marie and a part-time librarian assistant since 2011. I also work as a supply teacher and run my own Epicure Selections business. Outside work, I also love to travel, exercice and the outdoors!

I'm really looking forward to learning more about web technologies with the 23 things NB challenge, as it's one of my weeknesses. Setting up my first blog was actually pretty easy! I'm impressed! ;) Can't wait to see what's coming up in the future!

Bye for now! :)
